Common questions

How do I claim my free CE course after passing?: Email your unofficial NCMHCE score report to us within 14 days. We'll send you a coupon code for your choice of TMH 601 or Mandated Reporter. Then sign up for a free account at CounselorReady.com, apply your code, and enable CE deadline reminders in your dashboard. We'll email you at 60, 30, and 7 days so you complete the course before your 90-day window closes.
Can I get a refund instead of extended access if I fail?: The guarantee covers extended access, not a refund. We want to keep helping you pass — that's the point.
What if my subscription expired before I got my score?: If your subscription was active on your exam date and you submit within 14 days, you're covered even if it expired in between.
How long is the extension if I don't pass?: Equal to the length of your original subscription. If you had a 3-month plan, you get 3 more months.
Is there a limit on how many times I can use the fail guarantee?: The guarantee applies once per subscription. If you re-subscribe and don't pass again, you're eligible again.
What counts as a "completed case"?: A case where you answered all questions and saw the results screen. Starting and abandoning a case doesn't count.
What is CounselorReady?: CounselorReady is our board-approved continuing education platform for licensed counselors. Once you pass the NCMHCE and get licensed, you'll need CE credits — your free course gets you started.
