Accessibility

PassReady Prep is committed to making NCMHCE preparation usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology or need to adjust how the site looks. This statement explains the options we offer, the standards we work toward, and how to reach us if something isn't working for you.

Adjusting your experience

Every page has an accessibility button in the lower-left corner. Selecting it opens a panel where you can turn on any combination of the following. Your choices apply immediately, are remembered on your device, and — when you're signed in — are saved to your account so they follow you across devices.

  • Text size — enlarge everything on the page in two steps (A+, A++).
  • High contrast — switch to a black background with bright text, underlined links, and stronger borders.
  • Readable font — apply a dyslexia-friendly typeface with wider letter, word, and line spacing.
  • Reduce motion — minimise animations and transitions. If your device or browser already requests reduced motion, we honour that automatically on your first visit.

A “Skip to main content” link is the first thing keyboard and screen-reader users reach on every page, so you can bypass the navigation and jump straight to the content.

Standards we work toward

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and to align with the expectations of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for digital services. Accessibility is an ongoing effort rather than a one-time task: as we add features and content, we test against these guidelines and correct issues we find.

This is a statement of our goals and current practices, not a legal guarantee of full conformance. Where we fall short, we want to know.

Keyboard and screen-reader support

  • The site can be operated with a keyboard alone. Interactive elements are reachable with Tab, activated with Enter or Space, and the accessibility panel closes with Escape.
  • A visible focus outline shows where you are on the page as you move through it.
  • Controls use standard roles and labels so screen readers can announce them (for example, the display toggles are announced as on/off switches).
  • Page language is set to English, and headings are structured so assistive technology can navigate by heading.

Known limitations

We're being upfront about areas still in progress:

  • Audio and video lessons — full transcripts and captions are being added across the podcast and video library.
  • Downloadable study sheets (PDF) — some older PDFs are not yet fully tagged for screen readers. If you need an accessible version of a specific document, contact us and we'll provide one.
  • Complex interactive exercises — a few case-simulation and drill interactions are still being refined for the smoothest possible screen-reader experience.

Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology or settings you use if relevant. We aim to respond within a few business days and to fix confirmed issues as quickly as we can.
